Rowan rugby, in an effort to forge a strong relationship with local high school rugby powerhouse, St. Augustine, visited the Hermits’ campus on Monday, April 24 to run a clinic and discuss recruitment opportunities.
Head coach Scott Wilson was joined by senior captains Mike Ehrlich and Nick Spanos, juniors Matt Opacity and James Higginbotham, and sophomore James Meija. The Rowan players demonstrated drills and techniques while giving the St. Augustine players individual help as well. The session finished with a scrimmage that allowed the players of both programs to compete together. Afterwards, coach Wilson discussed Rowan University and the rugby program with the St. Augustine players in the hope that one day some of these fine young men will become Profs.
A great time was had by all and Rowan rugby thanks the St. Augustine coaches and players for this great opportunity. The team looks forward to building a strong relationship between the two programs in the coming years.
