Before a large turnout of supporters, the Profs ran out as comfortable winners over Temple 37-19 in the opening game of the MARC schedule.
Rowan started strongly with an early try by standout #8 Justin Sangster after Temple lost control of the ball deep in their end. The game seesawed entertainingly with multiple tries from both teams and the lead changing hands twice in the first half. However, the Profs took control in the second half and cruised to an 18 point win.
Tries were scored by John Dormann and Matt Rhodes; while captain Matt Opacity chipped in two more himself in a strong performance.
Rowan next travels to West Chester University on 9/30 in what promises to be a fierce contest.
