Rowan Rampant in Victory Over Villanova

The Rowan Profs powered to a 77-19 win over Villanova Saturday to maintain first place in the MARC East Division.
The Profs attack came alive on a hot, sunny day as nine different players crossed the whitewash, racking up a team total of thirteen tries. The backrow was explosive throughout the match and contributed a combined seven tries. Sam Portner, starting at openside flanker for the first time, earned Man of the Match honors for his hat trick. Justin Sangster continued his try scoring ways at 8man with two of his own; while blindside flanker, Paul Touroonjian, chipped in two more for good measure.
The team demonstrated dominance through the forwards and backs in all phases of play leading to tries from Drew Wilhelm, Kieran Walsh, Matt Rhodes, John Dormann, Matt Opacity and A-side debutant, Alex Taylor.
The win clinches the East Division title for Rowan and sets up a home crossover game against the fourth place team in the West Division on October 28th. However, the Profs must first face a powerful Alumni squad this Saturday for Homecoming. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. Come out and enjoy what promises to be an entertaining game!
